Ikano was originally a part of IKEA. Today the Ikano Group owns and develops competitive and profitable niche companies in the areas of finance, real estate, asset management, insurance and retail. The Ikano Group operates in Europe and Asia. Ikano contacted us to help them launch a new global intranet.
The Ikano Group operates within many different areas. Each business operates under their own unique conditions, giving them a profound understanding of their customers and an ability to meet their needs in a fast and flexible way. Previously, each area had their own intranet, but lately the need to have a common communication platform became increasingly important.
Re-designing and implementing a new intranet always involves lots of challenges. Many
communication departments breathe a sigh of relief when the last piece of information is
published and quickly pushes the start button. In that moment, they’ve missed the opportunity
of turning something really good into something truly great.
Our experience shows that building a successful intranet involves more than analysis,
information structuring and user-friendly design. In fact, the entire projects success depends
on how you launch it in the organization. If you fail to create positive attitudes, and forget
to tell people how to use it, there’s a great risk that your new intranet wont be the success
that you’ve hoped for.
Ikano had done a great job with planning the launch in the organization and wanted our
help to make it happen. Our job was to make sure everybody got a good start and provide a
quick overview of the intranet’s most important features. We created an interactive animation
featuring Ikano’s CEO explaining what everybody needs to know to get started – quick and easy.
